"Or maybe there are actually people who prefer Matsuno over Nomura/Kojima."

Well, then, they need to say, "I would prefer Matsuno over Kojima or Nomura;" and not the blanket statement, "Matsuno would be preferable to Kojima," because all of the review scores for his games at IGN, etc, including two perfect 10's, would give great evidence to the fact that Kojima is a much better developer than Matsuno. Of course, the current video game era has shown that much as Lisa Nova's Sarah Palin impersonation would say, "People don't care about facts." I still wish they would preface their statements with " I don't care about the actual quality of a product as long as its made by Nintendo, then I think it is amazing.", instead of just saying, "Wii Music is the best game ever simply because it is made by Nintendo".

Review scores mean exactly nothing at all.

It's pretty clear you don't even know who Matsuno is - he hasn't made a game on a Nintendo system since March of the Black Queen on the Super Nintendo, unless Let Us Stand Together was released afterwards on the SNES and I've just forgotten about it. He is not part of Nintendo.

I'm not going to preface what is pretty clearly my opinion with an "IMO" or "IMHO", because opinions tend to speak for themselves. Like this one: "Matsuno kicks Kojima's ass". And you know what? Matsuno kicks Kojima's ass.

Actually, I'm going to put down money that you're just trolling. You can be honest: why the trollin'?

Edit: Hm! Apparently he was also behind Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Go figure! I might actually have to play that one, now.

Let Us Cling Together was released on the SNES.  Though only in Japan.
