Well i've watched the PS3 launch in Paris on TV, there was a boat with 1000 units to sell. An hour before the launch, another boat with a huge "Xbox360 love You" Ad on it just came in front on the 100-150 people who came at the launch.
Sony said they would offer 1 PS3 every 100 PS3 sold, but with only 100-150 people, i'm not quite sure they actually had to offer even one.
On the Champs-Elysées, there was only one guy waiting for a PS3, he has been interviewed by LCI TV channel.
thts not true.

sure there were not 1000s of people but a 200 odd is not bad at all considering most people had their ps3s preordered .
In UK,BELGIUM, HOLLAND, LUXEMBOURG, IRELAND 90% of ps3's allocation is already sold out. So the success of launch parties are irrelevant.
