Blueray beats it compettitors..not blue ocean The DSi cam...and the music player are not the best.. but you can play with them..play with the music and the pictures hear yourself:dumbed down version of photoshop do you get it already?...this is gonna be a photo play thing..like the GB camera.. play with pictures or video..not edit them beyond recognition...or anything professional it is to enjoy playing with them..and later adding them into the games same goes for you Soma..just read what I wrote..I kind of get what's going on... it's not the same as PSP..who is trying to beat the iPod..or the iPhone..who is trying to beat Blackberry it's different..like the Wii..gave a dumbed down version of sports..right? think about it |
I never said dumbed down. I said gimped. There is a serious difference. Dumbed down means it is easier to use. Gimped means it has less functionality. And no, Wii Sports is not a dumbed down version of a sports game. It is quite possibly the furthest thing from a sports game. It is a demonstration of a new way to play games. It is blue ocean. MP3 player and a camera is not blue ocean. It wasn't blue ocean in the Wii, and it still isn't now.
I hate repeating myself but here we go again. To be blue ocean you need to offer a new experience your competitors do not offer. Click the link I provided and just look at that table. ALL the new features of the DSi are found in its competitors products. Every single one of them without exception. Do you get what that means? It cannot appeal to a different audience than them because it is not doing anything different.
You keep saying maybe a game will come out using it. If that happens then the game might be another blue ocean move. Currently it is not in existence though. Currently you just have a camera that also exists on an iPhone but with lower quality. Just like the Playstation did not offer anything new to pull people in, neither does the DSi.
And Soma, that is exactly what I am talking about. Based on nothing but the added features you are not appealing to a demographic larger than what you have. In the same was DS lite was not a blue ocean move, neither is this. It is a simple hardware revision. It is done all the time in the gaming world.
