Didn't Reggie just say that theyre waiting to see Euro numbers before a US release date?

Didn't Miyamoto delay TP bcoz he wanted wiimote waggle? Not surprised that they did the same here at all.

I highly doubt Miyamoto delayed TP for more waggle. It was delayed because Nintendo didn't have a single first party flagship title to launch the Wii with. Nintendo needed a flagship title like Zelda or the console would have gone belly up within the few dead months it experianced. Remember for months and months Nintendo didn't have anything new or ground breaking on the Wii without Zelda none of the hardcore gamers would have bought Wii's only the elite and loyal fans.

I'd suspect the delay was more because the game wasn't ready for the market. Remember Sonic Heroes that had a nine month development cycle and look what crap that turned out to be. Sega had a new graphics engine they wanted to try out and rushed a Sonic game as fast as possible to test out the new engine.

So that proves a game can be made in as little as nine months but I'd suspect Disaster didn't live up to Nintendo's first party standards. Using the Wiimote might have been a reason because the title was supposed to be a launch title and not using the Wiimote would have set Nintendo back. But in the end I'm pretty sure 9-months just didn't cut it. Its about 3 years later and only now do we see a finished product. If it was just about incorporating the Wiimote Nintendo would have simply gone over and reworked the game a bit.

Think about it, Nintendo ported Zelda in less then a year. Now all these new ports have been announced too changing up the controls in Disaster wouldn't take three years. Its obvious the game just wasn't the quality required to be a first party title.

As for an American release date. I think Nintendo is giving Europe a turn at getting everything first. For ages Japan has almost always gotten everything first but recently America has gotten games almost as fast but the U.K and Europe have been on the back burner. Nintendo is weaker in Europe then North America and I'm sure their just giving them a little favoritism for a little while. I'm sure us in NA will see Disaster released Q1 2009!
