Oh you're right, I can't find any rumors on it, just Nintendo's actual confirmation of it, which just so happened to be reported on this site as well:

Lol what the hell are you talking about? THAT IS FIRE EMBLEM DS!!! It doesnt say anything about remaking older ones for the DS.
