I don't know ... there are a lot of things which make me question the sales prospects of Little Big Planet. Games like Heavenly Sword and Uncharted had huge marketing budgets, were heavily hyped, and suited the existing userbase of the PS3 far more than Little Big Planet does and yet they never sold that amazingly well.
You seem to forget both of those titles are only action adventure games with a limited target audience .Uncharted actualy sold 400 k less than God Of War 2 which is probably one of the biggest Action adventure franchises on any console. Unlike Uncharted and Heavenly sword LBP has a much broader apeal , it has depth which apeals to the hardcore and ease of use and a concept which apeals to the casual gamer , I won't go into to much depth about LBP but it pretty much has something for everyone. Doesn't really matter how much money you poor into marketing a game if there isn't an audience for it. On top of that, one of the things that causes me to doubt the performance more than anything else is that the people I know who own PS3 systems seem to not know or care about Little Big Planet. I know several people who own PS3 systems who would be classified as DINKs (Dual Income No Kids) or DILDOS (Dual Income Little Dog Only) who tend to have an amzingly ammount of disposable income to buy toys; the games these people seem interested in is Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, Resistance 2, and Call of Duty World at War. Hmm you're obviously not aware of the huge buzz that LBP Is getting around the net , LBP dedicated fansites already , huge LBP threads on neogaf etc . I've heard LBP far more often than I have heard about LBP , the consumer is definetley more vocal with their interest for LBP even if there is actualy more demand for Fable 2. I don't expect that people are going to spend $400 on a system to buy a single game when the rest of the library seems completely uninteresting to them, and I don't see people who are currently drooling over what the PS3 offers really buying this game in high quantities. This is a big point and probably the biggest obstacle LBP faces in shifting PS3's but you'll find that the multi functionality of the PS3 will help alot , the bundle will most likely sell based on the apeal to different people in the household for different reasons e.g little sister wants to play LBP , older bro wants to play Socom , dad wants to whatch Blu-Ray etc. I could be wrong, but I expect this game to have a very dedicated following rather than a very large userbase. I think you will be proven wrong, I expect this game to have a large userbase which will eventualy leave a dedicated following playing LBP until a likely sequel arrives.
