The most likely third party characters to appear in SSBB would be owned by SEGA (Sonic), Capcom (MegaMan) and Namco-Bandai (No clue). Sakurai said that IF they choose to add another third party character, they would be from one of these 3 TPs, because they work closely with Nintendo.
