I really didn't expect too much from this game because of its developer, but I still find it hard to believe how they managed to screw up an RPG so much. It's like they don't have any idea how to make an RPG. It seems they tried their best to take out all the fun and added in tons of frustrations. The weird thing about the battles is that you don't have to fear the special attacks of enemies, those can easily be blocked by mastering the Elite Beat Agents like patterns that appear on the screen. But the regular attacks of the enemies are so damn strong and some of them can hit two of your members twice in a single turn. All you can do is hope that enemies rely on their useless special attacks or that their regular attacks miss. I still can't believe that there aren't any stats for attack and defense (the real ones) in this game. |
My favorite aspect of some WRPGs is the intuitive names for the stats.
Strenght - its purpose is to determine if you can equip weapons and armor (95% of the physical damage depends on your equiped weapon). On some games it expands your inventory 9weight capacity).
Agility - reduces physical damage
Dexterity - affects your attack speed and moving speed
Accuracy - affects your chances to do a critical hit
Endurance/Life/Defense - adds more HP
No stat that affect your magic damage. Magic, mana and wisdom only adds more MP.
Defense is not a proper stat, usually it is affected by 2 or more stats. Most of the damage reduction comes from armor or skills anyway.
