The texture quality doesn't seem to be the problem, but rather the way they use the textures. To me it looks very bland compared to metroid prime 3(environments) not characters, they look much better than the ones in MP3). They have plenty of time to stylize it though, and hopefully the environments are up to par with the characters in terms of style.
