It doesn't make any business sense for Sony to up a fee specifically for Microsoft, especially when Sony licenses Microsoft products for their laptops. Not only that, but I'm sure Sony would love to have Blu-ray a standard format in the next Windows version. Should Microsoft be a dick and just make them pay extra because it's Sony?

It's too soon to speculate on cost advantages/disadvantages of next-gen machines when we don't even have rumored specs.
