I think the basis of this is that an individual should look beyond reviews and hear say to buy a game. There is a good extent to which I would agree with this, as I personally find reviews doesn't really reflect the quality of the game.
yushire encourages that you can rent before you buy so you can see for yourself. Wii games in particular are at the brunt of bad reviews (sometimes bad, sometimes slightly off) and the OP is merely addressing it here. Stop looking for the little negative (the supposedly elitist attitude) and focus on the good points made here.
Any smart person would know of the notion of 'differing opinions' and I don't think the OP is forcing personal opinion as opposed to bringing forth some eye openers.
