This is what I feel yushire is trying to say:

1. That people should play the games of their choice -- others (including and especially reviewers) be damned.

EDIT -- 2. That people should try new things/different things with respect to gaming.

3. That reviewers are biased against the Wii and many of the types of games that appear on the Wii. Thus, they are predisposed to give those games lower scores.

4. That Wii Music has seen a lot of negative reports and posts because it is different -- and that this is amazing (and shows a bias) for a game that very few have seen or played.

My take

1 Certainly that is true.

EDIT -- 2. Certainly a good ida.

3. Certainly there is something to that. But what is worse is when games get lumped together without any attempt being made to differentiate between the two. Take for example the two games whose sales that Yushire sites -- Big Beach Sports and Deca Sports. Both are third-party attempts at creating "Wii Sports 2" (which Nintendo is only finally doing as a tech demo for Wii Motion Plus as it knows that it needs to move people away from this kind of game). To me, Big Beach Sports is clearly better. It offers some different sports and a DS-based face-maker option. Meanwhile, from playing it, it is apparent why Nintendo would not let Hudson use Miis in Deca Sports. But both received essentially the same review.

3. Wii Music is the pet project of Shigeru Miyamoto. Given his previous projects -- Mario, Zelda, etc. -- it probably would be wise to wait before sitting in judgment on this. I doubt he will be "corner officed" for this (getting put in the the corner office is a sign that you are no longer valued for your potential but rather for your past in Japan. It happened to Gunpei Yokoi because of the Virtual Boy -- and all he did was invent the Game & Watch and Gameboy). And since some of the guitar rhythm games (I think it is Rock Band 2) have incorporated a "no fail" mode, the idea of jamming for the sake of jamming appears to have some merit.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
