I live in Ohio, and the power outages due to the vestiges of hurrican IKE left > 1 million people without power for days. 2 people here at work STILL don't have power after 2 weeks, although that's a rare thing.
I'm not surprised at all that people here in Ohio went easy on Christmas shopping while their power was out for several days (I was lucky... mine was out only 1 day).
