Marvelous Entertainment is doing a great jop fulfilling the gap for JRPGs for Wii and DS, like Atlus and Bandai/Namco great opportunity for small studios to get over the giant hype that surrounds Square-Enix and the only hyped RPG their are making Final Fantasy franchise.

My opinion on the matter is that the stagnation the genre has been suffering for years is because the majority of western gamers are filled up with RPGs that plays,looks like and has the felling of Square-Enix games. I believe with this generation we will see a lot of new experiences on the Wii from JRPGs form new studios on the mainstream market like Epoch,Atlus,Grasshoppers,Sega(not new but with fresh ideas).

Marvelous has already realesed on the DS fresh ideas on TRPG like Luminus Arc,Atlus also with Rondo of Swords other games like Etrian Odyssey,Baroque(remake).
