When this all plays out, the Xbox 360 will be selling slightly better than it would have been otherwise. But the price cut will not much of a long-term effect. That is what has been seen in Europe.
Remember, to most gamers, the version without the HD is not really worth getting and cannot do most of the high-end activities that Microsoft is pushing.
Plus, a lot of people are really in fear of the potential for economic downturn right now -- especially in the US. That could not only depress hardware sales ... but how many people will want to pay $60 for multiple games.
