So  I won a Wii tonight.  Woohooo!

I need advice on setup....Does it matter if the strip goes on top of the TV or down by the base?  Is one better than the other?  My TV sits on a table about 2 feet off the ground.  Top of the TV is about 4.5 or 5 feet off the ground.

Any advice would be awesome!  Thanks.

Now I'm a 3-console guy!  Woot!

You lucky bastard! I'd be so jealous if I hadn't won my Wii a year ago. ;)

I'd recommend sensor bar on top. It's less likely that something will get in the way of the beam up there (your leg, small children, an item set on the table).

I think izaaz is wrong about needing to update. Games which require updates, like SMG and SSBB, have had them on the disk, so far. Of course, there are other benefits to updating.

If you have a widescreen TV, remember to set your Wii to 16:9 aspect ratio.

To get the most out of your Wii games, I recommend you procure a Gamecube controller (mostly for SSBB and Gamecube games), classic controller (for VC games), and a second wiimote plus nunchuk. You might want more wiimotes if you really want to party with your Wii, but you likely won't need more nunchuks.
