On the subject of "crappy creations will dominate the sharing system"
I think we need to look at it from a perspective like the one we see Warcraft III in. Sure, there is sea of crappy levels made for it (and no doubt the sea of crap will be even bigger for LBP), but there are also maps like DoTA for example. And a wide range of maps that some people find incredible while others despise them.
In short, the good maps will shine through all the bad stuff sooner or later, and there will always be something for your own unique taste.
