Come on Rol, you're acting crazy. Everyone knows hardcore gamers buy lots of games. Just so long as though games have someone with a gun on the cover. That's how they know it's hardcore. It's not the only games they buy of course, sometimes they buy games whose covers feature someone with a sword, or a knife. Even more tool like things implied as weapons usually do okay, like drills or chainsaws. The more casual core gamers will even loosen thier standards to the point where they'll buy games that have fast cars on the cover.
I mean why else would Grand Theft Auto sell so well?

Rockstar knows by putting a lot of different pictures of guys with guns on the cover, you'll sell like crazy to hardcore gamers. Actually looking at these two covers, they kinda of messed up with GTA IV's cover. They are only four guys with guns on the cover, while San Andreas had five. (Guy on the bike is holding a pistol.) That'll make it a lot harder for GTA IV to outsell San Andreas.
Not nearly as many Wii games have people with guns on the covers, so hardcore gamers are more gun shy (pun) about buying covers that feature people with guns. But it still works generally pretty well even on the Wii.

Even Nintendo knows this. Why else would they stick Star Fox holding a gun dead center in the cover of Smash Bros. If Capcom was smart they would of have given Zack and Ammy guns on the covers of their respective games. They should of at least given them swords. After all you do get swords in both Zack and Wiki and Okami. Poor fools.
