I have the opportunity to work a lot of children and they all admitted that they nag the ears off their parents all year long to make sure they get what they want (and probably giving their parents the chance to save up the money :p). The parents know what the kids want, so either it's something completely different (because they know the specific choice of the kid, and don't want to go for "something similar" or they cough it up anyway). |
I'll give you a scenario. The kid nags his mum for a PS3 and he really wants Fifa 09 (europe) or Madden 09, Nba 09 (america) for christmas. Parents go to the shop see the price of the 360 (and by the sounds of things adverts from M$ this year will be in abundance) and realise that the 360 with fifa 09 is less than £200. Not saying everyone will do that, but M$ have put themselves in the position that those who can be swayed most likely will.
