Lets say you are an adult/parent -> you will buy the 360 and some software instead of just a ps3,and then move to other gifts. Very simple and easy.
Actually, kids get what they ask for. So if they "demand" a PS3, parents will oblige.
They won't go "I got you something similar" and disappoint their kid.
