Over the summer I lived with a diehard free market Republican who thought the homeless deserved to be homeless and everybody who wasn't rich was stupid and lazy, and the government shouldn't fund research into AIDS or cancer or have art grants or educational grants or a space program or anything because everything in life should all come from a free market, no matter how long it takes. He thought anti-trust laws were a necessary EVIL and that marriage should be a religion-only matter, so that not only can gays not get married (even in gay churches? that part wasn't clear), atheists shouldn't be allowed to get married, and everybody should get civil unions from the government unless they're having a religious wedding. He also thought homeless people had it pretty good (he had never had to step over a dead homeless person before).
Considering I'm the most liberal person on the VGChartz according to that one graph, you might think I buried this guy in my basement, but we actually got along pretty damn well when we didn't talk about politics or art. In fact, after trying to discuss art with him, discussing politics was a breath of fresh air.
I don't think your thread last night was about bipartisanship. The title alone was offensive and very partisan.
