Actually, this thread is not political at all...
last night I had a thread about bipartisan politics, and it was locked by Montana Hatchet. We have had some emails back and forth, and it's been told to me that I can now repost the thread (montana was also very gracious in his last email response, and I thank him very much for how he responded to it all).
The problem is, I don't want to post it. I know that as soon as I do, it will case a complete polar series of responses. Some people will say they agree with me 100%, and other will say I am as far from where this country needs to be as one can get.
The thing I hate most about where this country is, is that attitude. Gone is the day where people with different opinions of the world can sit together, and find common ground. We are a polarized nation, and I think that alone, is the beginning of the end. When intelligent people can no longer discuss important issue without it degrading to the position of finger pointing, what positive thing can possibly be conceived?
This country (and I mainly blame the media) has become filled with hate. People overlook the shortcomings of candidates who aline with there personal views, and vilify the candidates who views differ.
It is without question, this country that both Obama and McCain fight for. The level of dedication both men put forth is unbelievable. Both men have spent there lives in the service of others. Both men are as much a patriot of this country, then anyone reading this. Why then do we resort to the name calling, and the bickering that we do when we speak of these two people?
What we disagree on is ideology, and to be honest, both mine and yours can probably learn from each other, but we never will if all we continue to do is point fingers at each other and name call. No, I will not repost the thread I was given permission to repost, as all it will do is continue two groups of people who love this country very much, down a continuos path of self destruction. I love everything this country, and its people, stand for way to much to be a catalyst to such unhealthy behavior.
I grow tired of it, and I hope some of you feel the same way.
