Advertising is likely. But the series has been niche the whole time, so if it just sells a few hundred thousand, that will still be a success.
Remember that NMH is still the developer's biggest hit, huge advertising or not.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
