Try Earth Defense Force 2017, I know it features shooting from a third person perspective but it isn't a tps, it is more like a hybrid between smash tv and contra, or something like that, it's further from stuff like gears that its perspective would make it seems
seriously you can use dynamite to level an entire city block
plus it has a 50's sci-fi theme like plan 9 from outerspace or Earth Defense Force the movie form the 50's, i.e. the mechanical enemies look like they're wrapped in tin foil
plus it has local co-op so you can team up with a buddy to destroying entire cities in search of giant ants, absurd looking robots, and godzilla knock offs
plus tomb raider anniversary is good too... though I personally like the additional gameplay features of the wii version... well anyway either version is a winner
