You all are missing the point. Yes it will be patched for free at a later date, but it is a feature which was prominently talked about that would be a feature of the game, implying that it would be there upon release not upon a patch. They should have just held the game back a month or so until they could deliver everything that was promised and add that additional layer of polish.

I don't think anything, there is a huge difference between DLC and a patch with promised content from the initial release. I call that rushing a game and being sloppy. DLC is a completely different animal from this.
