I have a translucent 64. The awesome DK64 green N64 with yellow game cartridge... It also came with the expansion pak and I believe the whole package only cost about $100.
As for DS, I expect they'll just go to a more rounded, tapered look eventually. If they could do a translucent DS without it looking toy-like, they probably will someday.
