If I should do a prudent prediction, I'd say that I give most chances to the following scenario: PS3 will end 2nd WW, but XB360 will end 2nd limited to USA. PS3 could exceed XB360 USA sales if they keep on selling it one or more years after XB360 sales cease. and this should make happy both MS and Sony, as the former wants a victory on a shorter term and a product lifecycle shorter, while the latter is perfectly at its ease with longer term plans.
But another thing that could happen in future, is that the three current players scatter their next gen consoles release so much that talking about consoles generations wouldn't make sense anymore.
