Well, you still have a mistake. Double negative, so you're actually saying he did learn how to spell.

 

It's not a double negative.  "Learnt" is not a contraction.  It is a past form of "learn".

 

You're probably right.

But is learnt seriously possible to say? Still, didn't learnt would be incorrect. Didn't learn would be correct. Or am I mistaken?
