@Xen. I agree the PS3 is respectable now... but saying "2008 has been PS3s best year" sounds a tad odd, I mean there have only been 2 years to look at.
Similarly I can say 2008 has been Wiis best year, and 360s best year (and in fact it looks like DS might manage to best last years record-breaker, and PSP will also have it's best year)
It's a little more meaninful for X360 which has had an extra year, and more so for PSP/DS as they are in their 4th and still bettering themselves... but doesn't mean much for PS3 or Wii.
2008 has been gamings best sales year ever!
