Yea there has been a lot of adjusting with numbers this week so wouldn't be that surprising. But it does show that the 360 pricedrop was very frontloaded haha as what it did in 1 day was only matched in the next 7. But I guess though sales are necessarily bad.

PS3 is of some concern though. I mean as wii explodes through it all unscathed as usual, PS3 seems to be affected by this. Now it's possible shortages but I got nothing to prove that guess. All and all there isn't much to grab out of this week. Next week will be of more interest, especially for the 360.

To me, the most interesting thing about these numbers are the noticeable drop in PS3 sales witht the increase in 360 sales. It really shows that the two consoles are fighting over the same group, in which case the considerably lower price point might going to hurt the PS3 as well as increasing 360 sales. Sony might want to consider a price cut in the US.

Well I think your right but I also think this shows just how much the American market has expanded.  I mean it is allowing in September to have almost 300,000 units sold.  I mean 5 yrs ago this wouledn't be probable.  Haha if PS2 had sold 150k in one week Xbox and GC would be splitting 20k haha.

It shows that the Wii is not only competing for those core and normal gamers but how much its expanded outwards from them which is actually in turn good for PS3 and 360 that it has a sustainable amount of potential buyers despite not being the central and mainstream brand.  If 360 or PS3 was on the top, that little outlet wouldn't be open and the other 2 would simply fade out.  Wii, and DS too, has definitely been good for the American market and really European market as well, and also in a probably unwarranted way, for the competition as well.

However I do think that eventually that one brand will push out between PS3 and 360 to the point where the other shows well below average sales.  Can't confirm this but it seems to be how trends work.  And the 2nd place will be able to survive with that not so bad second place rewards in the shadow of Wii.
