Why not? MGS4 is currently at 3.2 millions only on the PS3 (Which is very good IMHO). You don't think the 360 can move another 3 millions copies? Look at GTAIV, the 360 version did better.

Splitting the game between two consoles does not double it's sales, it would have helped sales for sure, perhaps to the extent of having around 4 million currently (probalby spilt 55:45 in favour of X360)

I don't think thats true. The userbases for the most part are different entities. A game releasing on the PS3 like LBP does not effect the sales of Fable 2 or vice versa.

...but they are talking about the same game being released on multiple platforms, not 2 exclusives being released on 2 different platforms.
