No look at this chart, green is ps3

Even if there was no problem with that chart, my chart still shows that it takes the whole world for the PS3 to barely outsell the PS2 in Japan. That's why Sony should be worried - not Doom's Day worried, but worried.

But there are several problems with that chart: besides it totally missing any "Others" data, the PS2 only started selling in North America at around week 30, and was supply constrained everywhere thoughout all that time.

A comparision focusing on North America is also telling:

What your chart does show, though, is that less than 10 weeks of North America sales are enough for the PS2 to keep outselling the PS3, even without others data. It also shows a Playstation doing about as good as an Xbox. None of which are things Sony should be proud of, seen as where they are coming from.

My only point is that it's not just the Wii that overshadows everything (specially when those who say that seem to think it won't ever sell more than 50 million units). No matter how high this is setting the bar, the PS3 looks bad when compared to its predecessors (and that's really where the bar should be at anyway). Again, this isn't Doom, but they shouldn't, and aren't really, happy with their performance.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.
