VG Chartz Question: Do sales affect the enjoyment of a game?

Quality is subjective.

But generally, you can say that games that sell well on a console, is generally more enjoyable for a person who owns that console, than a game that sells little.

That doesn't work for cross-over sales though.

That also doesn't work if you don't fit the general demographic of your console.

 

For Wii owners, Mario Kart Wii is almost certainly the most enjoyable game. Wii Fit can't really be added, as people dont buy that (only) to have fun.

 

I wrote a long post once, about how you could calculate whether or not you fit the demographic of your console, by looking at sales numbers and what games you prefer. Unfortunately, I cannot find it.
