This is kind of like GOW 1 vs Resistance 1. The campaigns were pretty good (though Gears was WAY short), both had quality coop and both had good graphics/gameplay. Where Resistance pulled ahead was in the multiplayer with 32+ person maps, a rank leveling system and a bunch of other stuff (compared with the dinky 4v4 gears system). It looks to be similar this time, as the video says. They are more or less tied on the single player, but the multiplayer options are heavily in R2s favor. As a bonus R2 will be free to play online, win.

So, you're trying to say GeoW 1 was comparable, or perhaps worse than Resistance.....

Not trying to infer anything, but have you actually played either game?

I did not say worse in all respects, I said similar in all respects except multiplayer.  I finished both, if you don't believe my my 360 tag is impulsivity which has a completed hard difficulty GOW tag among other ones.

The failing was not the single player (which was more or less equal to resistance in my estimation, Gears had a little more action, Resistance was far longer with a better story/more interesting weapons and enemies) it was the Gears multiplayer.  In this day and age they can't handle more then a 4v4 game?  Most gears games were over in 3 minutes since there was only a tiny group to kill on both sides.  The objective based 16 on 16 matches in Resistance were far better done.  R2 vs Gears of War 2 just continues the more or less equal on single player with Gears left in the dust on multiplayer pattern.

For all the people who talk about the 360 as the multiplayer machine, I find it severely lacking and not just becuase you have to pay for online.  All the games are small limited affairs for some reason.  The biggest games tend to be around 8v8.  There are no huge games like Warhawk with teams of 20 people, huge firefights and all the rest.  I mean I had larger groups when I played Doom 2 on a bunch of macs linked together in my dads basement during the 90s then Gears of War manages.

Resistance was much better from the middle through the end then at the begining, if you say it sucks but haven't played past the cannery stage, you're missing what made the game awesome further along when all the cool weapons and huge firefights kick in.
