not exactly, we didn't know about 14th menber before the announcement of kh 358/2, but nomura said she have alot to do with the game.
namine meet her, all the things that link to kh2 and maybe 2.
if she was never created such link would not be needed, that just a example nomura split the game into 3 to link to the next instalment.
instead of making one big game on one console.
