Probably the best non-same genre comparison so far, quite hard to decide.

I'm giving it Metroid Prime > Halo >> God of War

Metroid Prime: The first gamecube game I bought when I got a Wii. Such an awesome game (I bought a few weeks before Prime 3 was released) and truly one of the best games on the platform (Gamecube) and up there for all time. Created a genre basically. Mirror's edge would be years away had Metroid Prime not shown First Persons Adventures could work.

Halo: Game defined a console. Enough said. Oh wait, I'll add, it showed an entire industry how a FPS can be done properly on a console. Heck, it's a bloody launch title and it still stands as one of the best achievements in gaming. Metroid Wins on the merits of the game itself (barely) but Halo wins on sheer impact on the industry

God of War: Clearly third, people remember this game because it was a giant middle finger to all those people who were calling for heavy censorship in games back then. Fairly short and gave no reason to replay the game or anything really to extend it's legs. Still, a fantastic game, but it didn't define a genre, really it only has 2 claim to fames, the middle finger to censorship and of course quick time events. Hardly industry changing. EDIT: Actually I should have said hardly industry changing in a GOOD way, seeing as how many games now use quicktime events, but it's not a good change these days.
