Wow--I've literally NEVER heard of a gamer that hated the DS before...
Take a new approach: What are his three favourite genres? Since you frequent this site, you should be able to name a few very high-quality examples. Show him some of your DS games, and basically rape his argument.
For the Wii, he seems like a lost cause...
