Your logic makes sense. However, I think the real reason a price drop is unlikely is that sony seems to be more focused on profit than marketshare now. Their heavy focus on developing and marketing first/scond party software provides evidence for this. I think they've pretty much conceded the NA market to M$ and Nintendo.
