@halil: I'm not actually defending it. I'm just looking at it outside personal preferences and try to see what it's all about.
It will sell good without a doubt, no matter how fanboys rant or feel offended.

When Wii Music has sold above 5 million, we read people ranting how it "sells because it's a Nintendo game", the same thing we read about Brain Training, Nintendogs, Wii Fit etc. Or "the casual are buying it" or "the kids are buying it" or anything that you can imagine to attempt to show that it sells because people don't understand what they are buying, instead of people buying it because they like it.

Now "the ultimate videogame" is to offer explanation to its future sales. A lot of people play games without any specific goal in mind, just to have fun, but in most games the required learning curve is too high for people who haven't played any games before. Or focusing on competing or achieving also turns people off because they may not be able to compete or achieve what's required. Wii Music doesn't have those obstacles and the only question is, that is Wii Music able to "pull it off".

Thats what we core gamers are afraid of, thats why we're ranting about Wii music. It makes perfect sense since its also the cries of core gamers when Wii Fit was introduced. BMI isnt really a standard for fitness or health. Wii Fit wasnt even what we call "a game" since theres no challenge to it because even toddlers can do those games like the hulla hoop one and the football thingy. Its also on other versions of Wii games like Wii play and Wii Sports OK, you played Wii Tennis and Wii bowling. Where are the unlockables? No tournament? You cant progress? No online? You cant brag to a noob? Wheres the fun? And Wii Play so you have perfect score on the duck hunting game WHATS THE POINT Thats it? You dont know what skill you have? Atleast Counter Strike you know your skill if you owned a noob or if you're on a scrim or you invited to a tournament or if you become a pro. See what I mean?

Thats what core gamers are afraid of. Whats THE SKILL on playing Wii Music if you just flail your arms around whats the fun on that? see what I mean? Anyway Im posting this for us to know whats the real deal about Wii music. Thats why CAPCOM was afraid of porting Street Fighter IV.

Thats why we want a new Zelda or a new Pikmin game on E3 because we want "skill" involved on the game.

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.
