Technically it's not impossible considering the series is a neverending paradox that takes over the course of infinity as the triforce passes through the generations to the next "link", "zelda", and "ganondorf". The only way it oculd be stopped is if one of them gained the entire triforce and destroyed it or something where it was no longer passed... thus the others wouldn't exist. Kinda like how in the world without link in the split timeline theory that's why the game is focused around regaining it.
It's always been a very interesting plot and progression so the next one will probably tie a few in though it's doubtful they'd jump so far into the future without at least a lead in. I figure the next one might show some very dark things in it considering the end of TP wasn't necessarily bright.
