For the record, GSC represents the smallest strategy changes in a sequel in the franchise. That's right, the two new types were the smallest. The only reason I have them so high is I really liked the Pokemon added.

Ahh because held items, Psychics and Dragons actually being wallable, Baton-Passing, Endure-Reversal and Perish Song are so superficial.

The problem is that although they added the types they didn't add any good Pokemon in the types. End-rev and Parish Song are hardly useful against a good opponent, Baton Pass I give you.

DP is the best metagame update to date. I don't mean the online play either. I mean the division of attacks into special, physical, and status for all types. It made a huge difference, fixed most balance issues, and killed the cheap strats from before.

End-rev was very viable until Tyranitar in RSE made the strategy useless.  Perish Song was also very viable as Mean Look-type moves became popular.  I just like GSC the most because it started to repair a broken metagame in Red/Blue/Yellow.

D/P are my third favorite because of the division of special, physical and status.  At the same time, it's my third favorite because several of my favorite first and second generation Pokemon got subpar evolutions.  I hope this topic doesn't become about metagames and remains about the games in general.

Pixel Art can be fun.
