Very true. It's not like the Xbox started selling by the tens of millions once it hit $150. Same for the GC when it was practically being given away for $99.
Of course the key difference for the 360 is that it has a solid 3 year library built up. Whether all those older games factor in to increased value perception remains to be seen though.
In the past, big, established library plus mass consumer pricing meant mass consumer adoption. Of course that formula only applied to the Playstation over the last two generations as the dominant brand.
