Its actually a little more complex than that. The US and Europe went through the social, political and economic changes that come with industrialization over a span of about 200 years. China has only had about 60 years of that industrialization, with the first significant changes happening in the past 25 years. That kind of rapid modernization is why china is such a mess. |
Actually i was implying the cheap production. And the economics growth. When USA started industrilizing, it was pulling the global economics (namely Europe that time and maybe even China) and after it was grown enough to being able to run by its own, the production shifted to North-America.
The 60 years you mentioned, is the time that the communistic party have been in power and true, that's where the industrializing started after them copying the Soviet Unions industry model. Although, China didn't need industrializing, so they ditched it for a few years.
But, anyway you're right, while the industrializing have grown along with population growth in the west, China is getting it on "full scale" at once and that's indeed causing a lot of problems (locally as well as globally).
