Probably not, actually. HD console buyers haven't been waiting for their favorite games to come out before getting the hardware, so FFXIII and GT5 unlikely to give a permanent boosts to PS3 sales. Or rather, they gave the PS3 their permanent boosts when the console was launched. All that's left for them to provide is the usual short spike that accompanies new releases, and that will be all. It happened to GTA4. It happened to Halo 3. It happened to MGS4. It will happen to these games too. |
Yeh, they sold several hundred thousand consoles.. not bad, plus a price cut, which will permenently boost sales IMO. Also, FF XIII will bring the JP sales higher for a very long time, and GT is one of the biggest and best selling franchises ever, prologue managed to sell over 2m copies (inc dls) which will massively boost sales
