The biggest problem with being right is that people don't want to be told what's right. They want to be told they're right already. There's an entire section of Sun Tzu's Art of War dedicated to the problem of being wise instead of being a hero, which is basically what this boils down to. You get more attention from being a hero, but you get it right far more often by being wise. Most lack the fortitude to be wise, since there's no fame to be had from it save long after the fact at best.
