Sorry dude, that's bullcrap. Microsoft probably spends more money buying exclusives, games, and content than Nintendo and Sony combined. Their first party games might not be as frequent, but they are arguably just as good, and exclusives aren't the only thing that Microsoft has bought for its customers. Hint: Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4.
Plus dropping price, and spending profit getting exclusive DLC and turning PS3 exclusives into multiplats.
Microsoft is spending more money trying to please its customers than Sony, who has stated that they refuse to pay for 3rd party exclusives. Not to mention huge price cuts on the console itself.
