Ehm.. is this new in the US?? in the Netherlands we have been able to lend "other media" then books from the library since... VHS.. You could lend VHS, CD, Snes games, pc games, DVD's etc.. ... of course some will copy it, but if you steal it you would lose your library card.. and would never be ble to go to it anymore.. But think about the poor people who can't afford to buy a DVD they would like to see... or a CD.. or a Game..? Now they can enjoy these "other Media" too.. Why is that different from enoying a book?
