There's a difference between hype and over-hype. Some people act the release of LPB is the second coming of Christ.

 

And you don't think anyone did this with Spore and The Conduit?  Overhype is not about which games deserve hype, most games that get hype are usually good games in one facet or another.  Overhype is about select portions of the fanbase over doing the hype and overstating the likely effect of the game.  Spore and The Conduit have sufferred the same thing.

 

Yes, but people are not unrealistic with the sales predictions of Spore or The Conduit. I have seen a lot of unacceptable predictions for LBP.

Define "a lot" because really I think it depends what you think of as "unacceptable".  I read a Conduit sales thread where many predicted 2.5-3m.  Don't you think that might be a bit unrealistic considerring that we have no idea what kind of backing this game is going to get for marketting? 

And what's unrealistic for LBP, is 2.5-3m unrealistic....anything above 1m?  Or are you just using the 10m prediction that Gearbox made.....because sure that's an awful prediction....but I've seen people equate The Conduit with Goldeneye in terms of gameplay.....which seems like a bit much without ever playing it don't you think?
