Not as big of news as people are saying. I mean, its great for the 360, but DMC is not THAT big of a franchise. Check the sales. DMC1 was the best-selling title in the series, and it wasn't among the top 50 games on PS2.
I know a PS2 owner who is still unsure whether he should buy a PS3 or Xbox360. Devil May Cry is one of his favourite games and if I tell him this week that it is also coming to 360 he will probably buy the box soon as he is also interested in Oblivion and other PC-style games for consoles.
Obviously, a one man survey isn't making a trend, but I just want to point out that there are probably many people out there who haven't decided yet which next-gen console they should buy (and may only buy one of the three systems). Seeing that the PS3 is losing nearly all exclusive third party titles and the bigger library of the Xbox360 should make their decision easier.
What is not being mentioned here is the fact that the 360 is losing 3rd party exclusives as well. So if games end up on both systems it will come to a value based purchase. Here is the issue. Games like DMC, splinter cell, GTA (the 3d version) and others made it big in only one generation. Has anyone reallly thought about the prospect of new exclusives and titles for each system?
Games make me happy!
