Benchmarks are in FF3.1b is faster then Chrome for Javascript.

http://www.nordichardware.com/news,8095.html

With what I have seen from FF3.1 most complaints for FF3 should be removed as they have improved a TON of crap as well they seem to be adding somethings from what their development page shows. Also it adds new web standards that was just released by the WWC.

Any articles on benchmarks for Opera? I'm interested in seeing how Opera 9.52 competes with Chrome(0.2?)/Fx3.1

I know that Opera 10 (coming later this year) will be adding tons of optimisations and the renderer gets a 100 on the Acid3 test, but I was wondering how it stands now.

Opera probably regained or will regain their speed advantage versus FF. Back when early benchmarks for FF3 was released FF smoked Opera 9.xx but Opera 10 will probably be faster but still have the same issues as Opera 9 did (not full up to date on web standards, HTML5 and CSS3 was just adds a ton of new crap that FF3.1a2 already landed expect Opera to support most of it but not as much as FF).

 I believe that Opera 9.5 (the stop gap between 9.2 and 10), released a few months ago, already added CSS3 support. The browser's renderer also saw many optimations (particularly on the js renderer which increased speeds by up to 2*(quote the raven*)). Of course, this is all just half-arsed stuff compared to what they've got planned for 10.

* raven = opera site.
